Obviously, the restriction has been lifted. Any promoter, with the exception of Wilhelm, may post your event at the Works on the board. You can now stop PMing or calling me asking if it's alright. It's not a matter of whom was right or wrong, I guess it was just inevitable that based on my personality, I would eventually give in. It was still really shitty how that all went down, but that's the nature of the biz I guess.
I took on the Works job to basically help finance Nefarious.Net, of which DetroitLuv and about 50 other domains, including DCS, are a part of. After having spent so much money on the festivals, the servers & service, and with Bandwidth being slow, I had to do something to keep things afloat. Now both the 2nd job and Bandwidth are gone, and I find that I am seriously struggling right now. Guess I needed the club more than they needed me. So, I humbly ask that if you do plan to promote events at the club, maybe you can make a small donation to help "the cause". Nothing major, maybe a $10 or $20 spot to the Respect button. And before I'm accused of attempting to steal or extort from the club again, understand I am not making this a requirement to post your events. It's a suggestion. I won't frown upon you or spew hate against you or your event if you choose not to donate. You can even make your donation and get a promotional service in response via the PM Blast option in Subscriptions.
While I vow to never step foot in the club again (which I'll probably eventually flip on too), I also haven't and won't look down on any promoter, dj, friend, scenester, etc that patronizes or spins at the club. No matter what, it is a place that has solidified itself in our little techno history, and still one of the only places to hear quality electronic music on a consistent basis. I am proud of the fact that I was able to follow in the footsteps of others and help sustain that history there, and don't want to be the sole person accused of its downfall.
So feel free to post away, just keep in mind that this promotional tool that we have here doesn't quite exist by just magic.

It's undeniable...alot of the retards came back along with The Works! postings. Complete rave-ish developmental regression in just matter of party posts. All of the theories are right: The Works-less board for the last two months was definitely the "control" group....you might've been able to hear a pin drop in the Loop & Evaluate threads but at least everybody spelled words correctly, there was a minimum of Big Up slang and text was in consistent unmulticolored lower-case that did not induce migraines... Now just look at this place. I think it's fine for the events to be back, but like Kwame said, let this be the beginning of a new era in Detroit.

50 - domains x $40 for hosting for the YEAR = $2000 year.. divided by 12 months =$166 for a monthly average.. gosh - just think that covers almost - half..donate you cheapskates..especially if you have a domain hosted. geezz

Long, Live The Works!
jesus H christ would you just choke on a wad of cum and die already? you and the constitution, I swear.... My whole stance on everything is that I only go to parties I'm invited to or I find out about as a result of going to a party I was invited to go to. I was encouraged to join and post up here on DLuv by a kid I met at a Friction party I went to (Encrypted), therefore I have used the board to find other parties to go to. I especially liked the Bandwidth parties because it helped support the board, plus there was always super good music and a really nice vibe to boot. If the events at the works would have been off limits here, in all liklihood I wouldn't have made it back because how was I going to find out about them? Unless I got a flyer or word of mouth at a different party. Basically, I don't have the extra gas money and spare time to hop in the car and drive up to Detroit (over 3 hours away) and just pop in to a club that I don't know about some night on a whim. Now that the Works events are going to be up on the board again I can check them out with the same degree of attention that I would put into choosing any night to come out and do some dancing. For the most part though, I've been spending most of my time at home working on my music, so when I do start to come out again, I'll have demos in hand and a mastery of production that will allow me to do live PA's if the opportunity presents itself. For right now though I need to keep working on my sounds and tightening up my transitions between layers a bit.
