so, what did Terry Mullan do with all those cookies? I'm serious, I wasn't around then, I figure that he either was being funny like a rock star that wants 4 lbs. of GREEN JELLO in their dressing room, or was he just so spun that he turned into a keebler elf when he played and passed out cookies?

the story:

me, patrick russel, karen gage and a couple other carloads went out to the Ladybug (2?) party in chicago, which got busted. it turned into running all over chicago wondering when the afterparty woud start. when we finally got word, we went to said afterparty. we started going up the steps and heard "spastik", so we RAN up the steps. pat will have a better account of this, but im pretty sure it was traxx and mystic bill tagging. we gave traxx his powdered donuts (a tradition of sorts whenever i would go see him play) and terry mullan was jealous. so, knowing he was coming to detroit the next weekend, we asked him what kind of cookies he liked.

us: "chocolate chip?"

terry: "chocolate chip is good!"

so, in typical overkill fashion karen, arron redfield and myself baked EXACTLTY 1200 chocolate chip cookies and brought them to the party.  Smiley

the look on his face when we did it was one of the funniest fucking things i had ever witnessed!

terry: "holy fuck i cant believe you guys actually did it!"

Not as funny or wacked out as I'd imagined, but thanks for clearing that up for me.

hold on.... Cool
alright. lets roll.

I think I started heckle and jeckle bilee,... I was in C_town at that time and you put me in a hell'a'fied dance. After words you gave me a mix tape that I played for years. I ACTUALLY COLLECTED EVERY TRACK FROM THAT MIX. I gave it to a dreaded dude (shit I forget that dude's name). He is a pimp in Seattle now. Actually pimping hoes last I heard. He brought you guys back as H&J after that.

sorry 'bout the size
so the story is...
left to right-- i dont know, stephan white, me w 40oz, devlin wissig, my first dog Butch, greg campbell.
this guy named wayne smith zimmerman was walking through Capital Park with the guy on the left and asked to take our picture. it was a fucking classic 1217 day- middle of summer, 1994. i lived right above the burned out restaurant, and we (alan B, devlin) had our floor-to-ceiling windows open with a  PA speaker kicking some techno/jungle (alan bogl, VOOM fame, roommate) for all the fools waiting for the bus, to hear. I always called Capital Park, Piss Park or Pigeon Park, 'cause thats what is was. that puppy was the first dog i ever owned. my roomies hated me for it 'cause he shit all over the place and i didnt know how to train him.
classic story- once we got tired of living like squatters and cleaned up the loft so clean we left the holes in the floor open. we had a rat problem after that  like you wouldnt believe because the restaurant below us was abandon. we threw a fuckin' helly RAGE down in that piece- derrick may, sasha, buzz, etal. im havin' flashbacks!

I'm desperately trying to dig up some pics of Jonnie and I circa '92: the combat boot rave team.

When I was in college, I hosted a "club" night called Vertigo in the basement of a grosse pointe church. I had just started going to the real clubs myself so I recreated my own experiences. Industrial, indie rock and techno was the format. Jonnie, his brother Chris, Dale (theorem) were regulars 'cause they were church youth group kids like myself.  Good times. yeah, pre '94...

Ransom and I and the Lansing crew tried to go to that party in Chicago.  We rode there in a fucking classic Caddilac.  Needless to say party was busted, nobody brought a flyer to find so we couldn't find a phone number to call.  So we ended up (after running a red light in front of a cop whilst rolling on many e's) at Red Dog or Red Door whatever its called.  Derrick Carter was playing.  One of the best nights evar.

ladybug 2!  you guys were lucky to make it to the afterparty.  i remember the cops driving through the crowd to get people to leave, a line for dennys that literally circled the building and every gas station and restaurant refusing us service.  it was like a movie.  luckily i ran into mark walls and jeff wallace and we all got a hotel.  i think we all know how that story ends.....

Most of these were not taken between '94 and '96 but nonetheless should be shared...
