Nogueira totally took that fight. When asked what my pick would be, I said it would be Sylvia in five rounds, by decision. Which would be in keeping with a long tradition. But now Nogueira is the UFC heavyweight champ. And he was only outweighed by 30lbs.

Flipside: same conversation, I also said Frank Mir would win with some sort of leg lock. Though I fully expect that a lot of people are crying foul right now because Steve "the-only-ref-worse-than-me-is-Yves-Lavigne" Mazzagatti totally stopped the fight for a second to let Mir back up after a couple of illegal head shots (not bad ones and never been cause for the same action before), essentially giving him the match after a battering from Lesnar that could have wrapped the whole match in his favor in under 1 minute. 1:33 later, he caught Brock with a knee bar.

it really wasnt worth it. antonio & manny turned into a draw. Rob McCullough got robbed by varner. varner called a "time out" not even 5 seconds after taking a HUGE right hook that sent his mouth piece flying out. i have no idea why why steve mazzagotti even allowed this to happen. basically it gave varner time to recover & then come back & KO mcullough. condit was an animal as expected.

Dan Henderson: Its completely draining. I workout at the gym 5-6 days a week. But I do this because I love it.

Actually, Rome came prepared with some pertinent questions about the fight.  Dan doesn't make for a very exciting interview - but it was worth watching.

Regardless - it's good to see MMA getting coverage on a mainstream sports show like this.

Mayweather to make $20 million with WrestleMania

Mayweather incited the couple hundred of already hyped fans at Staples Center by whipping out a thick wad of cash and repeatedly tossing $100, $50 and $20 bills into the crowd.  A mad scramble ensued, with a light pole nearly getting knocked over and two small children caught in the chaos.

"I run Vegas and I run L.A. and I will run the WWE," he boasted.

Hopefully this means we won't have to see this clown in the realm of MMA anytime soon.

Bud Light becomes official sponsor of the UFC

Both of these announcements mark pretty significant steps towards solidifying MMA as a mainstream sport.  But I have to say I have mixed feelings about the CBS deal with EliteXC.  Maybe it's the fact that millions of Americans will now get their first taste of MMA through sub-par cards headlined by Kimbo Slice that just doesn't sit well with me.
